Wound Care at MWL Libraries
Published Date: 10th April 2026
This April, MWL is launching a new Trust-wide Wound Care Formulary. This is an important step forward in delivering consistent, evidence-based wound care across our services.
The new formulary has been worked on by MWL staff and the Cheshire and Merseyside Wound Care Formulary with the aim of aligning the Trust-specific formulary with the wider regional framework. This will support best practice, improve standardisation, enhance patient outcomes and provide clear guidance on product selection and wound management.
The trust held drop-in sessions at Southport and Whiston hospitals this week, attended by over 100 staff members. The sessions where very well received, with 98% of attendees reporting increased knowledge after the sessions. One attendee said 'A really successful event, both educational and supportive, thank you!'

Your Library has a range of Wound Care resources available for loan. Additionally, both Whiston and Southport Libraries have dedicated Wound Care Topic of the Month displays featuring books to borrow and resource update sheets to take away!
