Literature Search Training
Training
The Library and Knowledge Service offers one-to-one and group training on how to carry out a literature search and find the evidence that you need. The training can be delivered virtually via MS Teams, in one of our libraries at Ormskirk, Southport or Whiston hospitals, or we may be able to travel to your place of work.
Training will cover:
- Creating an NHS OpenAthens account
- Accessing databases
- Planning your evidence search and defining your keywords
- Searching with MESH headings
- How to use Boolean operators (AND/OR) in your search
- Limiting your search to get more precise results
- Selecting and saving your results
- Creating an alert to inform you of new papers on your topic
