BrowZine

MWL staff and students have access to a wide range of full-text medical and healthcare journals. You can find them all easily in one place using BrowZine.

Use BrowZine to browse by subject or search for a specific title.

You can save your favourite journals and articles on your personal bookshelf and keep track of when the latest issues are available. See our BrowZine guide for more information.

Download the free BrowZine app, to access journals on your mobile. Select Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust when prompted to choose your library.

LibKey Nomad

LibKey Nomad is an easy way to download or request journal articles. Wherever you find an article, whether that’s on the journal website or in Pubmed or Google Scholar, look for the LibKey Nomad symbol of a green flame to access or request the article.

LibKey Nomad has been added to your Trust PCs and laptops but you can also install it on your own device.

Another place to search for available journals and articles is the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub. We suggest you login with your NHS OpenAthens account to see all that is available to you.

If you would like the full-text of an article and you are unable to access it using your NHS OpenAthens account then you can complete the online form and we’ll obtain it for you.

ClinicalKey

ClinicalKey provides you with collections of journals in:

  • Critical Care Medicine
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Internal Medicine (includes The Lancet)
  • Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • Orthopedics

You can have them to hand by downloading the ClinicalKey app on to your mobile device via Google Play or the App store.

The first time that you login you will need to activate your account to access the PDF's of the resources. You do this by clicking on the small arrow at the top on the right hand side at the end of the organisation name.
