The BASHH HIV/Blood Borne Virus (BBV) Special Interest Group (SIG) is the largest BASHH SIG with over 30 members with representation from across the multi-disciplinary team including senior clinicians, new specialists, doctors in training, pharmacists, specialist nurses, advocates and people with lived experience from across the UK. In common with all SIGs, we have a steering committee (consisting of chair, honorary treasurer and secretary), responsible for supporting best clinical practice and organising educational events of interest to the wider BASHH membership. The SIG membership is also responsible (along with BHIVA) for delivering the Diploma in HIV Medicine course annually, as well as content for the BASHH Scientific meetings. The members contribute to BASHH’s evidence-based guidelines in the area of HIV and BBV Medicine and comment on external consultations in these fields on behalf of BASHH.
